One Exhibition - Two Countries - Twelve Artists
This exhibition presents the same work by the same artists simultaneously in Ballarat and in New Zealand.
This project highlights the democratic nature of printmaking and questions the aura of the unique.
This follows Parallel Prints NZ-UK, which featured the work or twelve diverse artists from the UK and New Zealand in 2013. A selection of prints from the NZ-UK 2013 portfolio can be found in the case to give the exhibition historical context. Twelve of the portfolio sets from that project were donated to international collections, including the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Art in Nanjing, China, and the Whangarei Art Museum in New Zealand.
Parallel Prints is a project of the Art Gallery of Ballarat and Art at Wharepuke, New Zealand. One of the folios from the 2015 edition will be donated to the Art gallery of Ballarat collection.
